What will you do? 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Social Value Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for driving positive social change and improving community outcomes through innovative strategies. As a Social Value Consultant, you will work collaboratively with our clients to assess, develop, and implement social value strategies, initiatives and reporting mechanisms that align with their business objectives and societal needs. 

More importantly, you will work with a small supportive team in a rewarding, challenging and fascinating role that positively impacts people, communities and society.  

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of client organisations to identify opportunities for enhancing social value.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored social value strategies and action plans that align with their business goals.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on best practices for measuring, monitoring, and reporting social value.
  • Work on tenders both internally and on behalf of clients, providing expertise and accuracy. 
  • Design and deliver training workshops and educational sessions to support client capacity-building in social value management.
  • Work closely with internal teams to integrate social value considerations into project planning and execution processes.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, policies, and frameworks related to social value and advise clients accordingly.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and community partners to foster collaboration and mutual understanding.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience working in a social value, corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainability or related role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of social impact measurement methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Social Return on Investment, Social Value UK's Social Value Principles).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
  • Excellent professional communication skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Experience working with clients from various sectors, such as public sector organisations, private companies, and nonprofit entities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Experience of working with project management applications/ platforms. 
Desirable Requirements
  • Research/analytical skills including that of data, academic research and publications. 
  • Experience of working at a grass roots level delivering social value initiatives within communities. 
Benefits
  • Salary £28,000 p/a - £35,000 p/a 
  • Flexible working
  • 9 day fortnights (2 Fridays off per month, paid) 
  • Holiday entitlement of 28 days per annum ( in addition to the above!) 
  • Small, supportive team. 
Additional Information
  • This is a full-time position based in Leeds, United Kingdom. 
  • Adopting a hybrid model of home working and  regular hot desking in Leeds City centre.  
  • UK travel will be required for client meetings and project engagements.
